Prepare for a Night of Chills and Thrills! Get ready to be spooked! There’s a mix of everything, from thrills and chills to laugh out loud moments. Bring your family and join the fun as Watermouth Castle transforms into a world of spooky, but light-hearted, Halloween thrills! With activities to delight and entertain, there’s something for everyone in the family! Hunt down 10 hidden Halloween gnomes around the castle grounds. Are you brave enough to taste our creepy-crawly delicacies in this ghoulish feast? Go on a cryptic adventure and uncover treasures along the way.

The committee and members of Ilfracombe Royal British Legion invite you to join their remembrance Parade. Starts from Brookside Carpark. All those joining the Parade are welcome to join them in The Wellington afterwards.
13 November – 7pm – Local History talk with Pat Barrow – Ilfracombe Museum
Local historian Pat Barrow gives his new talk regarding shipwrecks and archaeological find on Rapparee Beach.
16 November – 11am – 3pm – Lifeboat Christmas Fair – Lifeboat House
We’re packing the lifeboat station with festive stalls and games. Father Christmas will be there! Ilfracombe Male Voice Choir & the Scuttlebuck Shanty Singers as well as refreshments and a raffle.

Shadows are regularly seen in the venue by staff and patrons moving quickly between areas. The spirits of a young boy and girl have made their presence known and interact regularly. Knocks and loud banging have been heard on numerous occasions when investigating,

23 November – Midnight – Ghost Hunting Event – The Devonian Guest House
The Devonian Guest House has become a sought-after destination for paranormal investigators. Eerie paranormal phenomena have escalated with each investigation, ranging from cat ball activity and poltergeist occurrences in the cinema to taps mysteriously turning on in bedrooms.

27 November – 7pm – A talk from local author Tina Orr Munro – Ilfracombe Museum
Tina Orr Munro talks about her crime novels set in North Devon which feature Ilfracombe.
29 November – 6pm to 9pm – Combe Christmas Lighting the Lights – High Street
Candlelit parade through the High Street to Trinity Square where there will be music, blessing of the tree and the switch on – then wander back along the High Street, browse the stalls and local shops and taste the various food and drink on offer.
30 November & 1 & 8th December – 10am to 4pm – Landmark Christmas Market
A selection box of seasonal gifts & treats from North Devon’s creatives, artists and small businesses.
30 November to 7 December – 10.30am to 3.30pm – Christmas Tree Festival – Pip & Jim’s Church
To celebrate Combe Christmas 2024 Pip and Jim’s are holding their eighth Christmas Tree Festival. We hope to see the church lit up with Christmas trees representing the life of the churches in the Ilfracombe area and the harbour and town communities. Free admission. Visitors may make donations towards Pip and Jim’s West Wall Revive Project.
30 November – 1.30pm – Christmas Fayre – West Down Parish Hall
It’s that time of year again! Bring your children to see our naughty ELF and get a gift. Stalls, games and refreshments. Fun for all ages.
30 November – 8pm – Anchors Aweigh – Ilfracombe Yacht Club
We welcome ANCHORS AWEIGH sea shanty singers. They are a wonderfully group of gentlemen with Maggie playing the fiddle. There will be a collection to raise funds for North Devon air ambulance. Everyone welcome.
5 November – 7.30pm – The Phantom of the Opera
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of The Opera is a worldwide entertainment phenomenon. To celebrate its 25th Anniversary year, Cameron Mackintosh presented The Phantom of The Opera in a fully staged, lavish production set in the sumptuous Victorian splendour of the Royal Albert Hall.

Written and directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson and featuring Tony Award-winning orchestrations by Simon Hale, Girl from The North Country reimagines twenty legendary songs of Bob Dylan as they’ve never been heard before, including Forever Young, All Along The Watchtower, Hurricane, and Like A Rolling Stone.

17 November – 10am to 4pm – Clovelly Herring Festival
This popular festival celebrates sustainable fishing for herring, the ‘Silver Darlings’ of the sea.The Maritime historian and writer, Mike Smylie, attends with his ”Kipperland” exhibition, which is devoted to the history of all things herring and turns the herring into delicate-tasting kippers and bloaters in his smokehouse for sale. Flaxland will provide their exhibitions and demonstrations. Throughout the day there will be food, entertainers, face-painting, art workshop, an exhibition of Clovelly herring fishing, tasters & recipes and children’s activities.
16, 17 & 30 November – 4pm to 10pm – Clovelly Court Garden Lights
See the Clovelly Court Gardens like never before. Explore the historic gardens after dark as twinkling lights and seasonal cheer fills the air. There will be mulled wine and hot food to be served and also live music.
30 November – 10.30am & 2pm – Christmas Wreath Making – The Big Sheep
Barnwood Bears we will be hosting a Christmas Wreath making workshop. Come and join us for Wreath making special with festive fizz and teas and cakes. The classes will be held in The Big Sheeps restaurant with festive lighting and music to get you in the Jolly festive mood. The classes will be Running for 2 hours so enough time to work on your wreath and also relax and enjoy at your own pace. Everything you need will be supplied for your own wreath including gloves and cutters. This is an adult only event.
